Enrollment

Protu will organize two international English-language youth camps in summer 2026.
The camps are intended for participants whose native language is not Finnish or Swedish. A small quota is reserved for Finnish- or Swedish-speaking youths whose English skills are nonetheless sufficient for effective self-expression.

Enrollment for the 2026 Protu camps opens on 11.2.2026 at 10:00 as direct enrollment. Please be prepared for the camps to fill up very quickly after enrollment opens.

Enrollment can only be completed via an electronic form and only for one camp. A guardian must enroll any participant under 18 years old. Enrollment is confirmed by completing the questionnaire sent by email within 7 days of enrollment (if the questionnaire is not completed, the enrollment will lapse and the camp place will be released). Please read the enrollment instructions (below) before enrolling.

More information

Enrollment does not require logging in. One participant can be enrolled per form. It is important to enter the email address correctly and in the correct field. The form asks for:

  • Guardian’s first name
  • Guardian’s last name
  • Guardian’s email address
  • Guardian’s phone number
  • Participant’s first name
  • Participant’s last name

The enrollment form opens if the camp currently has available places or waiting list spots. Accessing the form does not guarantee a place, as places may fill before the form is completed and submitted:

  • If the camp and waiting list fill before you submit the form, you will receive the notice ”Tilaisuus on täynnä” (”The event is full”).
  • If the camp still has places or waiting list spots when you submit the form, you will receive the notice ”Tiedot on lähetetty ja saat vahvistuksen sähköpostiisi hetken kuluttua” (”Your information has been submitted; you will receive a confirmation email shortly”).

After successful enrollment (either to the camp or the waiting list), a confirmation email will arrive within about 5 minutes:

  • If you received a camp place, the email subject is ”Ole hyvä ja täydennä ilmoittautumistiedot” (”Please complete the enrollment information”).
  • If you received a waiting list spot, the subject is ”Vahvistus protuleirin jonoon ilmoittautumisesta” (”Confirmation of enrollment to the Protu camp waiting list.”)

Participant information questionnaire

Once you have received a camp place—either directly or from the waiting list—you will receive an email with the subject ”Please complete the enrollment information.” The message contains a link to the participant information questionnaire. Through this questionnaire you will submit all participation details, including contact information, as well as any dietary restrictions, allergies, or other information relevant for camp leaders.

After completing the participant information questionnaire, the camp enrollment is binding and cancellation terms apply.

🢂 The questionnaire must be completed within one week (7 days) of enrollment; otherwise the enrollment lapses and the camp place is lost.

Each camp has 5 waiting list spots. You may enroll on the waiting list if the camp is full. A confirmation of waiting list enrollment will be sent by email.

One person may be on the waiting list for only one camp. If you are already on a waiting list, you must cancel that waiting list enrollment before enrolling or joining the waiting list for another camp. Protu’s office will remove extra waiting list enrollments without separate notice.

If a cancellation occurs, the first person on the waiting list will receive the place. Notification will be sent to the guardian’s email, including a link to the participant information questionnaire (see above). The questionnaire must be completed within 7 days of receiving the place.

Due to a technical limitation in the enrollment system, only one child can be enrolled per guardian’s email address for the 2026 camps. If your family has more than one child enrolling (e.g., twins), please contact Protu’s office at protu@protu.fi by 14.1.2026.

Because the camps fill quickly and demand is high, we cannot offer direct camp-to-camp transfers. If you have an essential need to change camps, you may enroll in a free place or waiting list of another camp. Camp fee terms apply also to camp changes.

Camp or waiting list enrollments cannot be canceled by participants themselves. Cancellations are handled via Protu’s office by email at protu@protu.fi.


Camp fee and discounts

The camp fee is paid by invoice; direct online payments (credit card or bank transfer) are not possible. Invoices are sent to the guardian’s email before the camp begins.

The price for the 2026 international camps is 439 €.

The fee covers full board for the entire camp, accommodation, and accident insurance (for those insured under the Finnish system).

Accident insurance

The accident insurance covers participants who have a Finnish KELA card. It covers treatment costs and property damaged in accidents. If the participant does not have a KELA card, the family should ensure that they have valid travel or equivalent insurance during the camp.

Discounts

Participants in financially challenging situations are eligible for a basic discount of €90, selectable during enrollment.

Participants who are part of a family membership or are individual members are entitled to a €39 membership discount.

Families in particularly difficult financial situations may apply for a special discount of 200 € by 14.10.2026. More information here (in Finnish).
